In short
- On the phone, open droidsender.com/install and tap Download the app.
- Allow your browser to install apps and tap Install.
- In the dashboard, go to Devices > Connect a phone and type the code into the app.
- Allow the permissions the app asks for.
What you need
- An Android phone (7.0 or newer) with a SIM card.
- A DroidSender account.
1. Download
On your Android phone, open droidsender.com/install and tap Download the app.
If Android says "This type of file can harm your device", tap Download anyway.
2. Install
Open the downloaded file. If Android asks, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, go back and tap Install.
If Play Protect warns you, tap More details > Install anyway.
3. Link the phone
In the dashboard, go to Devices > Connect a phone. Type the 6-character code into the app.
4. Allow the permissions
Allow everything the app asks for.
SMS greyed out ("restricted setting")? Go to Settings > Apps > DroidSender, tap ⋮ > Allow restricted settings, then go back and allow SMS.
Using Google Messages? Turn off RCS chats in its settings, or some replies won't reach the dashboard.
Done
The phone shows as online in Devices. Next: send your first campaign from a spreadsheet.

- Google Play only lets the default messaging app send SMS. DroidSender sends in the background, so it is installed from droidsender.com.

- No. The 6-character code links the phone. It lasts 10 minutes and works once.
